BJP leader V Muraleedharan has taken a strong stance against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan for their absence at a key ceremony. The event marked President Droupadi Murmu unveiling a commemorative bust of former President K R Narayanan at Kerala Raj Bhavan.
Muraleedharan asserted that the leaders' absence was a sign of disrespect to both the current and former Presidents, as well as an affront to the Dalit community. He urged the leaders to issue an apology for their actions, which he described as 'deplorable'.
Citing that Chief Minister Vijayan could have adjusted his schedule, Muraleedharan noted that Satheesan was present in the capital yet chose not to attend. The ceremony was graced by former President Ram Nath Kovind and other distinguished dignitaries.
