In a bid to restore cleanliness following Chhath celebrations, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta initiated a cleanup drive at Vasudev Ghat, shortly after the festivities ended on Tuesday morning.
Joined by Culture and Tourism Minister Kampil Mishra, Gupta collected litter like water bottles, flowers, and diyas, underscoring the civic responsibility towards maintaining cleanliness. She personally participated by sweeping a section of the ghat.
''Chhath festival brought joy but also some waste. We are addressing this through a dedicated drive,'' Gupta informed journalists, urging community participation. Similarly, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, with Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh, launched an MCD campaign to tidy up the Yamuna Ghats and auxiliary ponds.
