Enhanced Security Measures at Sabarimala: RAF Deployed for Pilgrimage Season
A 140-member Rapid Action Force has been deployed at Sabarimala Temple to bolster security for the Mandala–Makaravilakku pilgrimage. Led by Deputy Commander Bijuraj, the team will operate in shifts and be on duty for over two months. A Quick Response Team is also on standby for emergencies.

A Rapid Action Force (RAF) team has been deployed at the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa Temple to enhance security during the Mandala–Makaravilakku pilgrimage season. This annual event draws significant crowds, and the RAF's presence aims to manage the heavy influx of pilgrims.
The 140-member team is spearheaded by Deputy Commander Bijuraj from Kollam and originates from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) base in Coimbatore. The team will be stationed at key locations, including Sannidhanam and Marakkoottam.
The RAF will work in three shifts, with each comprising 32 officers. Alongside, a 10-member Quick Response Team is on 24-hour standby to deal with any emergencies, reinforcing the commitment to ensure a safe pilgrimage experience.
