For the first time, India will host a UNESCO meeting dedicated to the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage, which will be held at the historic Red Fort in Delhi from December 8 to 13. Preparations for the landmark event are currently underway.
The Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in the 17th century by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, will be closed from December 5 to 14 to accommodate the event. Security will be tightened following a recent blast near the site.
This meeting signifies a proud moment for India, showcasing its commitment to preservation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. The Ministry of Culture and Sangeet Natak Akademi will facilitate the event, highlighting India's pivotal role in cultural diplomacy.
