The Goa government has ramped up its actions against the Romeo Lane club chain after a fire at one of its clubs resulted in 25 fatalities, officials confirmed on Monday.
In response to the tragedy at Birch by Romeo Lane in North Goa, authorities have sealed two other club properties associated with the chain. A police team has also been dispatched to Delhi in search of the club's promoters, the Luthra brothers, who are facing legal charges.
Investigations suggest that fireworks initiated the devastating blaze in the club, which lacked mandatory fire safety clearances. The disaster has prompted Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to call for accountability and further scrutiny of safety violations by officials.
