The Swara Samrat Festival (SSF) 2025-26, a major event on the Indian classical music calendar, was announced with fanfare at a recent press gathering, spotlighting its esteemed lineup of performers and organizers. The festival, presented by Boroline, promises to electrify audiences with a blend of Hindustani and Carnatic styles, beginning in Kolkata and crescendoing in Hyderabad.
Day one opens with a dynamic duet by Abhisek Lahiri and Samanwaya Sarkar on sarod and sitar, elevated by Pt. Sanju Sahai's tabla rhythms. Vocalist Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar adds depth, transitioning into a tribute to Ustad Zakir Hussain, featuring notable musicians like Ud. Taufiq Qureshi and Pt. Bickram Ghosh. Day two showcases Pt. Tushar Dutta's khayal alongside Pt. Prattyush Banerjee's evocative sarod playing, among stellar performances.
