Malayalam actor Dileep has claimed a conspiracy involving police officials and media outlets aimed to falsely implicate him in a 2017 sexual assault case. He argues that this was an attempt to damage his acting career.
Dileep, following his acquittal, asserted that the conspiracy was orchestrated to destroy his social standing. He openly criticized his ex-wife, actress Manju Warrier, for her role in highlighting a potential criminal conspiracy, which fueled the investigation.
The actor alleged that a senior female police officer led a team to fabricate evidence against him. The court acquitted Dileep while convicting six others, including the primary accused, Sunil N S, highlighting the complexity of the case.
