In a tragic incident, three migrant workers from Jharkhand lost their lives in a devastating fire at a North Goa nightclub. Pradeep Mahto, Binod Mahto, and Mohit Munda, hailing from different villages in Jharkhand, were among the 25 fatalities in the blaze that erupted post-midnight on Sunday.

Their bodies were flown back to their native state, where emotional last rites were held. Pradeep and Binod's cremation took place at the Karo river, while Mohit's were performed in accordance with tribal customs. The workers had been residing in Goa for a year and were financial pillars for their families in Jharkhand.

The Jharkhand government, with the coordination of Agriculture Minister Shilpy Neha Tirkey, has provided immediate financial assistance to the bereaved families. Efforts are also being made to ensure the safe return of other family members still stranded in Goa.
