The upcoming Brahmaputra Literature Festival, scheduled for February 6-8 in Sivasagar, Assam, is set to pay homage to cultural luminaries Bhupen Hazarika and Zubeen Garg. The event embraces the theme 'Confluence of rhythm, word, and art - Celebrating the voice of humanity.'
Festival director Rita Chowdhury emphasized that this edition celebrates the fusion of music, literature, and the human spirit, showcasing how art forms interlace with emotional expression. She remarked, 'The Brahmaputra symbolizes humanity — vast, inclusive, timeless, and musical.'
The festival anticipates global participation with notable speakers and performers. It also aims to highlight the Bodo and Mishing communities and their cultural contributions. The festival will feature an ethnic food street and a curtain raiser celebrating regional cultural milestones.
