The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) is setting a new standard with its innovative power solutions for the Magh Mela, scheduled to commence on January 3 along the sacred banks of the Sangam. For the first time, 'Scan to Fix' technology will be used to guarantee a seamless power supply throughout the 800-hectare festival area.
Key preparations are in full swing, as a massive temporary tent city emerges along the Triveni banks for the 44-day event. UPPCL reports that arrangements for electricity distribution are nearing completion with 320 kilometres of low-tension lines already installed, promising nearly 7.5 lakh power connections.
In an ambitious step, the 'Scan to Fix' initiative is being employed; each electric pole and connection comes with a barcode for fast fault resolution. This technology was previously deployed during the Kumbh Mela and is now making its debut at the Magh Mela, ensuring power restorations in just seconds should disruptions occur.
