Anini, a secluded village in Arunachal Pradesh's Dibang Valley, has gained national recognition for its adventure tourism potential. Awarded the title of 'Best Emerging Adventure Destination' at the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India's annual convention, the accolade highlights the diverse attractions the region offers.
The award was presented in Srinagar and accepted by District Tourism Officer Lamwang Aran, who emphasized the dedication of local stakeholders, the state Tourism Department, and Anini's residents in creating an adventure tourism model centered on sustainability and reverence for nature.
Nestled among the Himalayan mountains and expansive alpine forests, Anini offers breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural experiences. Popular activities include treks to the Seven Lakes, Aeyo Valley, and Zambra Valley, home to the endangered Mishmi Takin, along with the culturally significant Athupopu trek.
