In an unprecedented achievement, Saee Jadhav from Kolhapur, Maharashtra, has become the first woman to complete pre-commissioning training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun, a platform traditionally reserved for male officers for the past 93 years.
Her commissioning as a Lieutenant during the IMA's 157th Passing Out Parade has shattered a long-standing gender barrier, drawing commendation from Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who hailed her as a beacon of inspiration for young girls across India.
Saee, who is pursuing an MBA through distance learning, has been inducted into the 130 Territorial Army battalion of the Kumaon Regiment.
