On Makar Sankranti, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath initiated the Khichdi Mela festivities at Gorakhnath Temple by presenting the ritualistic dish of 'khichdi' to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath. The event, following time-honored traditions of the Nath sect, commenced at 4 am.

Adityanath, the Gorakshpeethadheeshwar, sought blessings for public welfare and prosperity. The annual celebration drew thousands of devotees eager to partake in the festival's offerings, part of a long-standing cultural legacy.

Highlighting the festival's importance, Adityanath noted the Sun's transition in zodiac signs. Makar Sankranti is observed nationwide in various forms, promoting unity in diversity.
