Israel plans to honor the late Charlie Kirk for his contributions in fighting antisemitism at a conference scheduled for late January. This announcement comes four months after the conservative activist was tragically assassinated at an American university.
According to the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Kirk will receive recognition posthumously at the International Conference on Combating Antisemitism in Jerusalem. Notable attendees expected at the event include Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and former Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.
This gathering marks the second occurrence of Israel's government-sponsored conference, aimed at addressing antisemitism and Holocaust denial in contemporary society. Despite Kirk's criticism of certain policies and alleged antisemitic remarks, his unwavering support for Israel was praised by Netanyahu, who lauded him as a 'lion-hearted friend' and advocate for Judeo-Christian values.
