In a bid to foster inclusive economic opportunities, the Delhi government has announced that it will allocate souvenir shops at the popular Dilli Haat to individuals having benchmark disabilities. This initiative aims to empower persons with disabilities by providing them a platform for self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship.

A recent notification by the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) invites e-tenders from eligible candidates. The initial contract for each shop is valued at Rs 30.71 lakh with a monthly licence fee set at Rs 2.55 lakh. The allocation is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension.

Applicants must be over 18 and possess a government-issued disability certificate proving at least 40% disability. In cases of significant disability, assistance in shop operations is permissible, ensuring fair opportunity for all eligible applicants. This move underscores the government's commitment to creating an inclusive economic landscape.
