Actor-Director Timothy Busfield Faces Child Abuse Allegations
Timothy Busfield, actor-director known for 'The West Wing,' faces child sexual abuse charges. A New Mexico judge found the evidence 'neutral,' releasing him from jail pending further proceedings. The charges involve alleged inappropriate conduct with two young boys during filming of 'The Cleaning Lady.' Busfield denies the allegations.
Actor-director Timothy Busfield, celebrated for his roles in 'The West Wing' and 'Field of Dreams,' was released from jail on Tuesday after being charged with child sexual abuse. The judge described the evidence against him as 'neutral,' and pending further legal processes, allowed Busfield's release.
Prosecutors claim that Busfield, 68, touched two young cast members inappropriately while directing 'The Cleaning Lady,' filmed in New Mexico. The complaint follows reports from the twin boys, now 11, alleging misconduct spanning two years. Although the director maintains his innocence, the court will deliberate on probable cause in January.
Defense attorney Christopher Dodd argues that the children previously denied abuse when questioned by law enforcement. Despite these allegations, colleagues like Allan Cabillo, director of photography, testify to non-observance of any inappropriate behavior by Busfield, who continues to assert that the claims are false.
