In a disturbing incident in Jharkhand's Ranchi district, three people have been arrested and a juvenile detained in connection with the public humiliation of a woman and her minor daughter. Police reported that the victims were smeared with black paint and paraded by neighbors on March 29.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Besra, the arrests include two women and a juvenile detainee. A complaint was filed by the victims leading to the booking of the accused under multiple sections of the BNS and SC/ST Act. The issue arose from tensions over a borrowed motorcycle.
The incident met widespread condemnation, including from Satish Paul Munjini of the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee, who decried the act as 'height of barbarism.' Local tribal groups also protested, demanding strict punishment for those involved to ensure justice for the victims.
