Justice N Anand Venkatesh of the Madras High Court has stressed the importance of preserving the Tamil language and heritage, amid growing concerns about the imposition of other languages. He emphasized that while Tamilians willingly learn other languages, any enforced imposition would never be accepted.

In a recent address, Justice Venkatesh shared his experience of watching the 1960s Tamil film 'Parasakthi' with his son, highlighting the historical anti-Hindi agitation. He expressed concern over his son's unfamiliarity with the language struggle, urging Tamil speakers to take pride in their linguistic heritage and resist any disrespect towards it.

The judge lamented the shift in educational focus from language learning to marks acquisition, leading to a decline in Tamil's prominence. He stressed that language should be viewed as a vital part of cultural identity, advocating for renewed efforts to keep Tamil language and pride alive.
