Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida recently inaugurated three luxury caravans designed to attract younger tourists, adventure enthusiasts, and those seeking unconventional travel experiences. By introducing caravan travel, a popular concept in Europe, the state aims to offer tourists a unique way to explore its natural beauty.

Launched on Magha Saptami, January 25, under the Viability Gap Funding scheme, these caravans cater to tourists interested in caravan tourism and adventure travel. The six-seater, self-contained vehicles are equipped with amenities such as air conditioning, sleeping areas, a kitchenette, and hygienic washrooms, allowing for comfortable long journeys.

The tourism initiative will operate in nine key destinations, including Hirakud, Debrigarh, and Chilika, promoting regional development and easing the burden on traditional tourist hubs. Each caravan includes GPS tracking, fire safety measures, and eco-friendly waste systems, enhancing both the safety and environmental aspects of travel.
