Initially admitted to Capital Hospital following a sudden illness at an event, Geeta Patnaik was moved to a private facility where her condition worsened. Known for her collaborations with legendary singer Akshaya Mohanty, her work included beloved tracks like 'Phur Kina Udigala Bani' from 'Jajabar'.

Her passing has led to a wave of condolences from figures such as Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The leaders commended her for enriching Odia art and culture, with her melodious voice set to inspire generations.
