Goa Clamps Down on Unruly Tourist Behavior at Beaches

Goa's Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte announced proactive measures against tourists engaging in unruly conduct on beaches, particularly targeting those harassing foreign visitors for selfies. The state aims to maintain its reputation as a peaceful and welcoming destination by deploying additional police and enforcing strict behavioral guidelines.

In a bid to protect the sanctity of its beaches, Goa has initiated stringent measures against tourists conducting themselves unruly, particularly towards foreign visitors. Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte revealed actions against those harassing tourists for selfies and disturbing the peaceful beachfront environment.

Khaunte discussed the matter with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, resulting in enhanced enforcement efforts. This includes deploying more police personnel through the Tourism Police Unit (TPU), ensuring that regulations are upheld and arrests are made when necessary to curb such behaviors.

Emphasizing Goa's reputation as a hospitable yet disciplined host, Khaunte stressed the importance of respecting local laws and culture. Safety measures are being bolstered by increasing the presence of women constables within the TPU, aiming to offer a safe and enjoyable experience for all beachgoers.
