The craft rum distillery near Mysuru has ceased operations due to a severe shortage of LPG for its boilers, a situation linked to the broader impact of the West Asia conflict on supply chains. Founder Aruna Urs announced the shutdown of the facility, which produces Huli Spirits, a premium craft rum.

According to Urs, the distillery has been unable to procure LPG, vital for the distillation process, as suppliers prioritize domestic canisters. This decision has resulted in paralyzing production at their micro-distillery located in Nanjangud taluk of Mysuru district.

The LPG scarcity is impacting many small manufacturing units, restaurants, and catering services dependent on commercial LPG, leading to temporary closures or operations under severe strain due to limited supplies.
