The British Film Institute Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival, in collaboration with the British Council, has announced the return of 'Five Films For Freedom.'

Running from March 18 to 29, this annual online short film program offers audiences worldwide access to free streaming on the British Council's digital platforms and BFI Player in the UK. Featuring works from filmmakers in the UK, Mexico, Brazil, Vietnam, and France, the selection delves into themes of intimacy, identity, and belonging.

Alison Barrett of the British Council highlighted film's influential role in culture, especially among youths. Alongside Rafiul Alom Rahman from The Queer Muslim Project and Kristy Matheson of BFI Festivals, Barrett emphasized the program's power in amplifying LGBTQIA+ voices and fostering global conversations on inclusion.
