In a generous act of philanthropy, Alakh Pandey, founder of PhysicsWallah, has donated ₹33 lakh to Slum Soccer, a Nagpur-based NGO that champions sports for children living in slums across the country. The donation marks Pandey's continued commitment to social causes following his UP Gaurav Samman award.
During his visit, Pandey interacted with aspiring footballers from disadvantaged backgrounds and heard firsthand accounts of the challenges they face. Education was a recurring theme, with students expressing difficulties due to the lack of sign language translators, a problem Pandey vowed to address starting with school board exams.
The founder of Slum Soccer, Vijay Barse, praised Pandey's efforts, emphasizing the transformative role sports play in education and social mobility. Barse, whose story inspired the movie "Jhund," highlighted how sports have helped young athletes overcome personal adversities and achieve educational success.
