Sony Sports Network Expands Regional Reach with New Kannada Channel

Sony Sports Network has launched a Kannada sports channel, expanding its regional network, which already includes Tamil and Telugu channels. The new channel, Sony Sports Ten 4 (Kannada), will feature major sporting events, including India's cricket tours and the Asian Games, increasing their total to 11 channels across five languages.

Sony Sports Network (SSN) unveiled its newest addition, a Kannada sports channel, on Wednesday, marking an expansion of its regional offerings.

The addition complements the existing Tamil and Telugu sports channels and elevates the network's portfolio to 11 channels across five languages.

The new channel, Sony Sports Ten 4 (Kannada), promises to offer extensive coverage of key sporting events, such as India's cricket tours and the Asian Games in Japan. This strategic move capitalizes on the dynamic South Indian market, which significantly contributes to overall television viewership in the country, according to Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer and Business Head of Sony Pictures Networks.
