India Unites for Water: #Water4Life Campaign Rejuvenates Nation's Waterways

In a historic collective effort, more than 33,000 volunteers from across India have united under the #Water4Life campaign, an ambitious initiative spearheaded by Reliance Foundation in honor of World Water Day 2026. This widespread campaign is dedicated to protecting and sustaining India's water ecosystems, marking it as a cornerstone of national environmental stewardship.
Reliance Foundation's campaign has already engaged with community volunteers in over 1,400 waterbody locations situated in 912 villages over the past 10 days. The community-driven efforts involve a combination of on-ground clean-up actions, long-term water management, and community ownership. Participants range from farmers and women's groups to local institutions and healthcare providers, all contributing to a shared goal of sustainable water conservation.
The #Water4Life initiative is the latest chapter in Reliance Foundation's extensive rural transformation work that spans more than 91,000 villages nationwide. Their water conservation efforts have successfully harvested more than 2,000 lakh cubic meters of water, significantly benefiting millions in rural communities. A wave of awareness and engagement activities has spread across the country, promoting waste reduction and water literacy, while encouraging collaborative efforts with governmental and local bodies.
