Arunachal Pradesh's Chief Minister Pema Khandu declared the Women's Reservation Bill a transformative reform for Indian governance. Speaking to women leaders and students, he emphasized its value in reshaping politics, giving women 33% reservation in Parliament and state assemblies, a move celebrated under Prime Minister Modi's leadership.

The bill, which resolves a longstanding demand dating back to 1996, is set for rules finalization between April 16-18, aiming for implementation by the 2029 elections. Currently, India has just 13.6% female representation in the Lok Sabha against the 40-50% seen in developed nations, highlighting the need for increased participation.

Khandu highlighted the Dulari Kanya Scheme and other women's empowerment programs while praising Arunachal's women achievers like author Mamang Dai and Colonel Ponung Doming. He called for reforms to empower women beyond the reserved quota, reflecting on the necessity for gendered advancements in political representation.
