Divine Debate at Bhojshala: Temple or Mosque?

In a legal battle at the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Hindu petitioners assert that Bhojshala complex aligns with ancient temple architecture, rooted in Raja Bhoj’s 'Samarangana Sutradhara'. The Madhya Pradesh High Court is currently gripped by a contentious legal debate over the religious identity of the Bhojshala complex in Dhar district. Hindu petitioner Kuldeep Tiwari, represented by lawyer Manish Gupta, asserts that the site was originally a Saraswati temple.

Citing Raja Bhoj's ancient book 'Samarangana Sutradhara', Tiwari argues that the complex matches the architectural standards set for temples in the medieval era. This aligns with the archeological insights from the ASI's survey report, suggesting the site has temple origins.

Conversely, the Muslim community views the complex as the Kamal Maula Mosque. The ongoing hearings aim to unravel the historical enigma, with Hindu petitioners advocating exclusive worship rights, supported by historical texts and precedents from the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case.
