Highlighting historical perspectives, President Murmu recollected Mahatma Gandhi's efforts alongside Subhas Chandra Bose and Acharya Kaka Kalelkar in promoting Hindi as a medium of patriotism and unity during the freedom struggle. She praised the university's name, reflecting India's rich cultural tapestry and linguistic variety.

Murmu encouraged students to take pride in India's linguistic heritage, promoting the learning of at least one Indian language besides their mother tongue. She cited the National Education Policy as a strategic move towards integrating native languages into education, crucial for a self-reliant country's growth.
