Netflix revealed on Tuesday that its movies and series have injected more than USD 325 billion into the global economy since expanding its service to over 190 countries a decade ago. The streaming giant has launched an interactive website, 'Netflix Effect', highlighting its USD 135 billion investment in content, which has generated over 425,000 production jobs and engaged more than 700,000 extras globally.

In a blog post, co-CEO Ted Sarandos emphasized Netflix's commitment to content creation, contrasting it with other companies that are retracting their investments. 'Every Netflix production is a local endeavor, fostering job creation and business growth beyond the screen,' Sarandos noted.

The initiative underscores the cultural impact of Netflix, with titles like Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Heeramandi' and S S Rajamouli's 'RRR' highlighting India's contribution. Netflix's 'Stranger Things' and the increase of non-English titles also illustrate its diverse cultural reach, further evidenced by educational and travel interest spikes tied to popular content.
