Nepal's celebrated mountaineer, Kami Rita Sherpa, made history on Sunday by scaling Mount Everest for the 32nd time, breaking his own world record. Known as 'Everest Man,' the 56-year-old reached the peak at 8,848.86 meters (29,032 feet) at 10:12 am, according to the Department of Tourism.
Leading an expedition for 14 Peaks Expedition, Sherpa's successful ascent was confirmed by the department's team at Everest Base Camp. This unprecedented feat highlights his significant contributions to Nepal's mountaineering reputation on the international stage.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah praised Kami Rita for his unwavering courage and dedication, acknowledging the invaluable role of the Sherpa community in enhancing Nepal's mountain tourism and global image.
