Bashir Badr, a luminary in the world of Urdu poetry, has died at the age of 91 in Bhopal after battling a prolonged illness. His family confirmed the news of his passing on Thursday. Badr's work in the realm of Urdu literature, particularly in ghazals, earned him widespread acclaim.
Born on February 15, 1935, in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, Badr imparted his knowledge of Urdu as a teacher at Aligarh Muslim University. He is survived by his wife and two children. His final rites are scheduled for the evening, according to a family statement.
