'A Minecraft Movie Squared,' the follow-up to the hit live-action adaptation of the video game, will make its worldwide debut on July 23, 2027. Fans can look forward to the return of director Jared Hess, promising more of the captivating Overworld adventures.
The original movie, which premiered in 2025, grossed over USD 900 million at the global box office, featuring Jack Black and Jason Momoa in prominent roles. The sequel welcomes Kirsten Dunst, who will portray Alex, the female counterpart to the legendary builder Steve, played by Jack Black. The narrative continues to follow real-world characters navigating the cubic wonderland to outwit the evil Piglin Queen.
Produced by Warner Bros and Mojang, the upcoming film enlists Jay Ashenfelter, Jen Conroy, Brian Mendoza, Jon Berg, and Jonathan Spaihts as executive producers, promising another imaginative cinematic experience.
