France Condemns Russian Attack on Kyiv's Historic Monastery

France has condemned Russia's strikes on Ukraine, highlighting the damage to the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Jean-Noel Barrot, the French foreign minister, likened the assault to a hypothetical attack on Paris' Notre Dame or the Basilica in Saint Denis, underscoring the severity of the situation.

The Kyiv monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1051, sustained significant damage, according to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the capital's military administration, as revealed in a Telegram post. Barrot expressed his disapproval ahead of a meeting with EU foreign ministers.
