Sex scandals have rocked the South Korean entertainment industry and shaken the stocks as police question two K-pop stars for sex tapes and prostitution racket. This has put the South Korean pop culture in the bad light.

Lee Seung-kyun, stage name Seungri is alleged of hiring prostitutes for foreign businessmen. The police have said that Lee, a member of the Big Bang group, nicknamed 'Great Gatsby' for his lavish lifestyle is alleged of 'sexual bribery'. However, Lee has denied the allegations and is giving full cooperation to the investigations. He has even left the entertainment to fight off the accusations. A singer and television celebrity, Jung Joon-young is also in the limelight for having shared sex videos. This has led to Jung's contract being terminated by his agency, MAKEUS Entertainment. Yong Jun-hyung is also being questioned for commenting on the sex videos. But in an Instagram post, Yong has expressed remorse. He denies sharing the videos and says that he will quit Highlight, the boy band, to prevent further damaging the group's image.

The police say both celebrities were members of online chat groups in which the secret sex videos were shared. Lee and Jung are alleged to have joked and bragged about drugging and rapping the women.

Meanwhile, fans are feeling let down by the celebrities and expressed disgust for idolizing them.
