Sherlock Season 5 never received hints from BBC despite Gatiss-Moffat’s confirmation: Reasons

Remember! Sherlock Season 5 is happening! While the rumour behind its cancellation continues to hound the show and create panic in the minds of viewers, the series creators have already shown their positive attitude towards having another instalment sooner or later.

 Fans may be wondering why Sherlock Season 5 has not been given any hints by BBC. Had BBC dropped any hint on the next season, it would have become an official confirmation. Maybe, Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat are not in a state to make this happen, as, we have come to know, the production will take much time as they have started filming on Dracula on the first week of March this year. That’s the reason BBC has not dropped any hint on the fifth season.

As far as the returning of Sherlock Season 5 is concerned, the viewers have been thwarted with severe cancellation rumours, but you should remember that both Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat previously said there is a 100 percent possibility of another instalment without any iota of doubt. Hence, the confirmation or any kind of hints from the BBC isn’t required to ensure the returning of the show.

On the other hand, Benedict Cumberbatch will also return in his protagonist’s role like in the previous seasons. He previously said to the media that he was eager to play the role of Sherlock Homes again. “Nobody has ever closed the door on Sherlock — we just say the same thing all the time and it gets quoted different ways,” ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ and ‘Doctor Strange’ actor said in an interview with Radio Times.

However, the returning of Martin Freeman in the role of Doctor John Watson may not be possible. If he doesn’t reprise his role, there must be someone to fill the gap. He previously said in a conversation with Telegraph, It’s not a thing to be enjoyed, it’s a thing of, ‘You better f*** do this, that’s not fun anymore.”
