Fact check: Did Sunny Leone donate money for Karnataka floods?

Floods in Karnataka have been devastating and claimed dozens of lives over the past few days. The government has announced relief measures while a few celebrities have also stepped up to help those in need with donations. As the news about celebrity donations for Karnataka floods spread, several posts about Sunny Leone's donation of Rs 5 crore for the cause also went viral on social media.

Lack of media coverage about Sunny Leone's donation had many people searching if the news is true or just another rumor. In 2018 as well, news broke out that Sunny Leone has donated money for Kerala floods and it was later revealed that she did donate 1,200 kgs of food but no money.

This image has gone viral and is being widely circulated across various social media platforms from several days.

Twitter is no exception to the viral rumor (where people say that the amount is Rs 2 crore).

As much as we want it to be true, the donation is not confirmed by Sunny Leone or any official sources yet. But then there's the fact that she might not want to promote her donation. It should be noted that even during the time of her donation for Kerala floods, she revealed the fact that she has actually donated food for the victims only after rumors went viral that she has donated Rs 5 crore (Yes, the same number again).
