Renault Formula One driver Nico Hulkenberg was handed a 10 place grid penalty for next weekend's race in Italy after a first corner collision at Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix that sent Fernando Alonso's McLaren flying into the air.

Race stewards at Spa also gave the German three penalty points, taking his tally to four for the calendar year.

Any driver who accumulates 12 points in that period gets a race suspension.
