Three persons were killed and another seriously injured when a truck hit them in Kalinga Nagar industrial area of Odisha's Jajpur district, police said Monday.
The incident took place when the unidentified truck hit the four on Jajpur Road-Kalinga Nagar state highway when they were returning home from work Sunday night, said R K Dora, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kalinga Nagar.
While three of them died on the spot, the seriously injured person was admitted to Danagadi hospital and later shifted to a private hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated, the ASP said. The deceased have been identified as Tapan Sethy (20), Balaram Jena (22) and Rajendra (21), police said.
The four were working for a private industrial unit in Kalinga Nagar, they said. According to sources, the unidentified speeding truck hit the four persons, who are workers of JUSCO Company, a contract firm engaged in a private steel plant in Kalinga Nagar.
