Maoist was nabbed in the district on Thursday

A hardcore Maoist was nabbed in the district on Thursday in a joint operation of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and the local police.

According to Harpreet Kaur, Senior Superintendent of Police, Muzaffarpur, Madan Bhagat was arrested from Sahebganj police station area of the district in a search operation conducted jointly with the SSB's 32nd Battalion, led by company commander Ritu Raj.

Bhagat has been involved in a number of Maoist attacks and he is named in at least half a dozen cases lodged at various police stations under numerous IPC sections, Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the SSP said.
