Select freight rates fall on excess position of trucks transport market in Delhi

Freight rates for the nine-metric tonne payload section for Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram dropped by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital Thursday on the excess availability of trucks against restricted cargo movements.

Transporters said apart from the easy availability of trucks, slow down in cargo movements mainly pulled down Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram freight rates.

Delhi to Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi freight rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 81,000 and Rs 73,000, respectively.

Elsewhere, freight rates for other centers remained unchanged.
