Paris police fire teargas on protesters trying to block TotalEnergies meeting

French police fired teargas to hold back climate activists seeking to block access to oil major TotalEnergies' annual shareholder meeting in Paris on Friday, a Reuters witness said.

Police escorted shareholders inside the venue where the meeting was expected to begin at 0800 GMT. Shareholders are due to vote on green resolutions urging TotalEnergies to accelerate fossil fuel cuts.
