Senegal seals 2.5 bln euro investment deal in return for renewable energy push

A coalition of countries will provide 2.5 billion euros to Senegal so that it increases its share of renewable energies in installed capacity to 40% by 2030, President Macky Sall said on Thursday.

Sall announced the Senegal Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) , backed by France, Germany, the European Union, the United Kingdom and Canada, at the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact.
