Delhi: 36-yr old man commits suicide by hanging himself

A 36-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in south Delhi's Sangam Vihar, police said Sunday.

The body of Laxmi Narayan, a resident of JJ camp, Tigri, was found from his office, police said, adding that he used a wire to hang himself.

Bottles of alcohol and empty glasses were found beside the body, they said. Narayan, who was married with two sons, had an extra-marital affair with a woman and they were in regular touch over WhatsApp and phone, police said.

On Saturday night, he spoke to the woman and sent her pictures after consuming liquor, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Vijay Kumar.

He inflicted a cut on his chest and shared that picture with her as well, he added.

However, Narayan's family alleged that he was murdered and his body was hung to show it as a case of suicide. Police said they were awaiting the post-mortem examination report.
