Paraguayan President Santiago Pena said on Thursday a fresh deal with Brazil regarding tariffs for electricity produced by their jointly-owned Itaipu hydroelectric power plant should bring in $1.25 billion in revenues annually for the country.
The revenue is based on a tariff set at $19.28 per kilowatt per month for 2024, 2025 and 2026, he announced in a video message shared on social media.
