India-US Command and Control Compatibility Board Meeting Bolsters Defense Ties

The seventh CCCB meeting between India and the US, held from June 4 to 7, focused on interoperability scenarios and operational communications needs, further strengthening the bilateral defense partnership.

The seventh meeting of the Command and Control Compatibility Board (CCCB) between India and the US took place from June 4 to 7, highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance interoperable defense communications. The discussions, held at the Manekshaw Centre in Delhi Cantonment, are part of a continuing collaboration since the signing of the COMCASA agreement in 2018.

A 29-member US delegation led by Paul Nicholson, Executive Director of US INDOPACOM, and a 38-member Indian delegation led by Brigadier Rahul Anand from the Integrated Defence Staff participated in the sessions. The CCCB, formed under Article XI of the COMCASA, meets twice a year to review and improve defense communications compatibility.

The four-day event facilitated extensive discussions among subject matter experts from both nations, aiming to address interoperability and operational communication needs. Defense ministry officials stated that the meeting greatly contributed to strengthening the military relationship between India and the US, with mutually agreed solutions emerging to address current communication requirements of India’s tri-services.
