Sohan Lal Commodity Management (SLCM) Group, a post-harvest logistics company, announced on Monday that it has received a second patent for its 'Agri Reach' application. This technology enables real-time monitoring of quality control data within warehouse management systems.

The patent, granted on May 20 by the Indian Patent Office, acknowledges SLCM's method for overseeing the quality of stored commodities throughout all stages of warehouse operations, ensuring their integrity throughout the process, the company said in a statement.

Earlier, SLCM secured a patent in 2022 for a 'method for real-time data management,' which allowed for centralized oversight and management of crops from any location.

With these two patents, SLCM has become India's first company in the agriculture sector to offer proprietary solutions that manage both the quality and quantity of crops in real-time on a single platform, the statement added.

"These innovations will significantly contribute to making the country's agricultural ecosystem self-reliant by enhancing various post-harvest facets," the company stated.

The patented method provides benefits such as highly accurate inbound and outbound commodity transactions, streamlined data management processes, and an organized system for quality control checks at all stages of warehouse management.

SLCM Chief Executive Sandeep Sabharwal said the patents strengthen the group's leadership role and underline its commitment to transforming India's agriculture industry through ongoing innovation efforts.

As of March 31, 2024, the company manages assets worth ₹10,928.82 crore and operates a network of 16,877 warehouses and 36 cold storage facilities across India and Myanmar.
