Doctor and Accomplice Booked for Unauthorized Gender Change Surgery

A doctor and an accomplice have been booked under serious charges after an unauthorized gender change surgery was allegedly performed on a young man. The police have reported that the victim, a 20-year-old youth who had been missing for a month, was taken to a private hospital by Om Prakash, who had apparently been sexually assaulting him for two years. The victim's father lodged a formal complaint, leading to the booking.

According to Station House Officer Ashutosh Kumar, the incident is currently under investigation, and charges under sections 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 420 (cheating), and 377 (unnatural offence) of the Indian Penal Code have been filed. The circumstances surrounding the surgery, including whether the hospital routinely performs such procedures, remain unclear.

On Wednesday, activists from the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), led by state vice president Niraj Pehelwan, staged a dharna in Begarazpur village, demanding stringent action against the doctor and the accused. The victim managed to contact his mother recently, detailing the ordeal he had undergone, which prompted the complaint and subsequent police action.
