Farmers Slam Centre Over Insufficient MSP Hike

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has criticized the Centre for a minimal MSP hike for 2024-25, calling it a mockery and accusing the BJP of cheating farmers to benefit corporates. The SKM demands an MSP as per the Swaminathan Committee’s C2+50% formula.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has come down heavily on the Centre, accusing it of mocking farmers with a minimal increase in the minimum support price (MSP) for 2024-25.

In a virtual press conference, SKM leaders lambasted the government's announcement, stating that the hike falls well short of the C2+50% formula recommended by the MS Swaminathan Committee.

They went on to accuse the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of deceit, suggesting that the policies are tailored to benefit corporate giants at the expense of struggling farmers.
