BSE Reaches Lifetime High as Sensex Hits New Peak

The BSE-listed firms' market capitalisation hit a lifetime high of Rs 4,43,05,344.36 crore, driven by a rebound in equities with the Sensex reaching an all-time peak. Key gainers included Tech Mahindra and Bajaj Finance, while sectors such as IT and teck performed well.

The market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms surged to a lifetime high of Rs 4,43,05,344.36 crore on Monday, underpinned by a robust rally in equities. The benchmark Sensex soared to a new all-time closing peak of 79,476.19, marking a remarkable uptick.

Throughout the trading day, the 30-share BSE Sensex climbed as much as 528.27 points or 0.66 per cent to an intraday high of 79,561. This milestone underscored the prevailing optimism among investors.

Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services, attributed the market's upward momentum to a reduction in US PCE inflation, which fueled hopes of a rate cut by the US Federal Reserve in September. 'This optimism contributed to the strong performance of IT stocks,' Nair noted.
